Gourmet Toast and Juice Bar, Toastique Coming to OC

Toastique, the rustic culinary concept originating from Washington, D.C., renowned for its artisanal toast, freshly pressed juices, and smoothies, is opening its first California location on Balboa Island this upcoming fall season.

Established in 2017, Toastique is known for using locally sourced, fresh ingredients, Toastique champions healthy living through an array of culinary offerings. Its gourmet toast selections include standouts like the timeless Avocado Smash (avocado complemented by watermelon radish, marinated tomatoes, chili oil, microgreens on multigrain toast) and the flavorful Smoked Salmon (smoked pastrami salmon, herbed cream cheese spread, arugula, cucumber, pickled onion, capers, toasty seasoning, microgreens, lemon twist on sourdough toast).

Additionally, the menu features bowls such as the Black Mystique (infused with activated charcoal, blueberry, strawberry, banana, and coconut water, topped with granola, kiwi, strawberries, coconut, Goji berries, and a drizzle of honey). A selection of nutrient-rich cold-pressed juices, smoothies, espresso, coffee, and convenient grab-and-go options further enhance its menu.

Driving the Newport Beach establishment are the collaborative efforts of Lyndon Baptiste and Rhea Cayenne, a husband-and-wife duo, alongside Anthony and Lesley Capolino, long-time residents of Newport Beach and relatives. Together, these two couples constitute Orange Seed LLC, a company dedicated to investing in high-caliber culinary and beverage brands. Pursuing a health-focused brand to complement their portfolio, they encountered Toastique last year and were immediately captivated by its accessible and health-conscious offerings. Orange Seed LLC envisions multiple additional Toastique locations along the Californian coastline in the years ahead, following the inauguration of the Balboa location.

226 Marine Ave. on Balboa Island.
